Intern - Specialisation Sustainability

For our Technology & Sustainability team in Frankfurt/Main (Clariant Innovation Center in the Industrial Park Höchst) we are looking for an Intern (m/f/d).

The position is temporary to 9 - 12 months and will be full time.

Responsibilities

• Support the continuous development and digitalization of the Portfolio Value Program (PVP), including revising sustainability assessments and exploring digital tools for efficiency.
• Map and analyse internal databases, identify data gaps, and propose connections between systems while collaborating with IT to develop tools and solutions.
• Research and evaluate external sustainability databases to complement internal data sources.
• Assist in creating data integration solutions to improve sustainability reporting and portfolio analysis.
• Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices to inform decision-making.
• Document data processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure consistency and transparency.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Management, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI); programming languages (e.g., Python) is advantageous
• Understanding of data management principles and database tools; experience with digital workflows is a plus
• Interest or background in sustainability topics, including sustainability reporting, ESG criteria, or life cycle assessment (LCA)
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and evaluate data from diverse sources
• Experience in conducting research on sustainability topics and trends is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments
• Proactive, organized, independent, and detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
