The Position
The centralized Treasury department in Basel ensures optimal financing and appropriate liquidity of the Group and its affiliates. It is responsible for managing the financial assets and liabilities for the entire Roche Group.
Within the treasury department, the Back Office and Digital Treasury team manages: 1)the master data maintenance and transaction processing on the global treasury SAP system, as well as 2) the portfolio of Data Science and Analytics solutions built to improve the efficiency of Treasury processes.
In this team, your key role and responsibilities will include:
Treasury Analytics (~70%):
Development of ad-hoc SQL queries
Analysis of Business Requirements for new projects and translation to technical implementation
Ad-hoc dashboard / data visualization development for quick insight generation
Assisting the continuous education of end business users on self-service analytics
(opt.) Participation in Data Science projects Design and Proof of Concept phases (e.g. time series forecasting, anomaly detection, optimization, generative AI)
Treasury Operations (~30%):
Processing in-house and third-party bank transactions (e.g. money market, securities, derivatives and FX deals)
Creating and maintaining master data in the global SAP system and supporting the centralized month-end close process
Assisting the team with their ongoing projects and eventually leading on treasury related projects (new regulations, integration to other finance areas, automation of processes)
Qualifications
Ideally, you bring the following skills and experience:
Good Data Analysis foundation skills (SQL, Python)
Experience with Data Visualization tools(Tableau, Power BI or similar) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP) are a plus
Bachelor’s Degree with focus areas in at least one of the following: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering (i.e. "Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen”)
Currently studying a Master’s Degree or graduated no longer than 1 year ago
Strong English communication skills (German is a plus)
Good team-player and proactive attitude and you are eager to learn new knowledge and able to apply it quickly

The preferred start date of the internship is mid January but can be adjusted upon availability.
