You can start your internship with us as soon as possible. Employment location will be Berlin or Bonn, Germany. Working from home is occasionally possible in coordination with your Team Lead. The duration and scope of work for your mandatory internship depend on the respective study regulations and is accordingly possible in full- and part-time. However, full-time employment as well as a three month period are highly desirable.

As an intern for the Food Systems Toolkit, you will contribute to the creation of a publicly accessible interactive website that allows users to explore and access the Toolkit. You will also develop training materials to help our country teams learn how to access and effectively use the Food Systems Toolkit.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide overall support to the Food Systems team at WHH by assisting with the day-to-day project tasks, contributing to the smooth implementation of toolkit-related activities.

  • Support the transition of the interactive Food Systems Toolkit document into a publicly accessible and user-friendly webpage, to ensure the content is effectively translated into a digital format(externally implemented).

  • Assist in the development and delivery of a concise, engaging online onboarding module that equips WHH staff and partners with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and apply the Toolkit in their work.

  • Work closely with the Global Advisor on Agriculture and Food Systems to pilot the new webpage in 2–3 selected countries, helping to collect user feedback, identify challenges, and refine the platform based on real-world use.

Your profile

  • You are enrolled as a student at university/college and have to complete a mandatory internship in the course of your current studies.

  • Ideally, you were already in touch with topics such as Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Food Systems, Nutrition or Climate Resilience.

  • Ideally, you have already gained some (work) experience in the field of rural development (agriculture, development cooperation) and/or humanitarian action.

  • You are a routined user of Office 365 software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), Adobe PDF, and Open AI tools; experience in website design and/or creating training videos are an asset

  • You enjoy working in an intercultural environment, are a good communicator and have an open-minded personality.

  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written English; French and/or German language skills would be an asset
