For CTC GmbH in Stade, we are looking for students for practical assignments (internships), bachelor and master theses. The CTC GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus Operations GmbH. CTC is Germany's leading centre for research and development in the field of design and production of large and complex CFRP components; with an international reputation as an expert for process development, series readiness and production optimisation. The focus of the CTC's work is the development of series technologies for the production and assembly of CFRP components in aircraft construction. Your location

You will be working at our research and development facilities in Stade. Next to the production site for civil and military aircraft components, CTC is located right between an industrial production environment, as well as a broad landscape of institutes within the CFK valley.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Conception of a methodology for the modeling of placement behaviour of fibre tapesin automated fibre placement

  • Creation of robot programmes and validation of the methodology based on theproduction of small-scale test specimen

  • Digital modeling of placement behaviour using FE methods

  • Validation of of the model through DOE

  • Regular professional exchange with colleagues in workshops and tech sessions

  • Insight and adaptation of currently used technologies for fibre composite development in aerospace

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student in the area of mechanical/ lightweight/ composites/ aerospace engineering; possibly software engineering or an equivalent field of study.

  • First practical experience in the field of composite design or fibre composites manufacturing technologies is desirable

  • First experiences in programming and CAE, FEA

  • Ability to work independently and on your own responsibility

  • High intrinsic motivation, teamwork and communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial thinking and acting

  • Willingness to pass on own competences in a team and to exchange skills with each other

  • Fluent in English, German is desirable
