Within Covestro, the HSEQ department is responsible for health, environment, safety, and quality issues. The Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) department within HSEQ deals with product safety issues and the implementation of chemical regulatory requirements for Covestro products. We operate and maintain programs that support the safe use, handling, manufacturing, as well as import and export of Covestro products and ensure compliance with chemical regulatory requirements for our products. PSRA supports both internal and external stakeholders regarding product health, safety, and environmental issues.

In addition to our wide range of benefits, you can expect an attractive salary of €2,050 gross/month for a full-time position.

What We Offer:

  • As part of our team, you will support us to evaluate the exposure of Bisphenol A to humans in the EU within the last two decades.

  • For a period of 7 months, you will have the opportunity to work independently on your own project. This includes an in-depth literature research on human exposure to Bisphenol A. You will analyse whether restrictions on Bisphenol A in the EU have led to any effect in levels of exposure to humans.

  • Additionally, you will characterize the contribution of polycarbonate to the current human BPA exposure.

  • You will utilize Covestro internal AI tools for the assessment and check the results for consistency.

  • There is the possibility to collaborate with experts in toxicology worldwide.

  • Besides your master thesis we strive for a publication in a peer reviewed journal.

  • The presentation of your results to colleagues and project partners is part of this internship.

  • In addition to working in our task force, you gain exciting insights into our culture and innovative strength.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a similar field of expertise.

  • You are currently studying Toxicology with the aim to start your master thesis.

  • Strong interest in new IT technologies, e.g. AI learning chatbots, large language modeling, etc.

  • You have a well-structured way of working, in particular with large datasets, and are able to analyze complex data and think out of the box.

  • Excellent Teamwork and communication skills

  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office applications

  • Very good German and good English language skills are required.
