The MSAT Emerging Technology is looking to hire one student intern to work along with the ATARI (Analytical Technologies for Accelerating Real Time Release and Integrated Quality) team. The internship or master thesis will take place in Schaffhausen (Switzerland)

Starting date: as soon as possible.

Activities

The ATARI team is dedicated to advancing pharmaceutical manufacturing through the integration of Quality (IQ) and Real-Time Release (RTR) strategies. A key focus is the in-/on-/at-line characterization of biologics' Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs). One of our projects focuses on utilizing Raman spectroscopy as a multi-attribute technique that can be used to non-destructively assess the quality attributes of our products including excipient quantification and protein characterization. We are seeking a dynamic, curious Bachelor/Master student to design and perform experiments to assess the various CQAs using Raman spectroscopy and benchmark their performance against the standard analytical techniques.

The many diverse activities part of this project offer incredible growth opportunities:

  • Experiments related to Raman characterization of drug products.
  • Benchmarking the online Raman results with offline analytical techniques.
  • Data analysis and model building to correlate the Raman information with physical attributes.
  • Optimization of various parameters to extract high quality information from the measurements.
  • Support testing execution, with the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical processes and specific equipment.
  • Documentation in the form of reports and ELNs to formalize the study.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s student in STEM field
  • Preference for students with backgrounds in optics, physical chemistry, or pharmaceutical sciences
  • Skills in programming and data analysis are highly desirable.
  • Good accountability and organizational skills
  • Proactive attitude
  • Fluency in English.
